Meet iAN
When young people met to discuss the new design for the YOF application form and website they agreed that having a character who would give them hints and tips and check they'd filled in the forms properly would be useful.
The character they came up with is iAN. You can see him on the right there. He's here to:
- Tell you important information
- Check you understand things
- Make sure you remember to include all the relevant information
Throughout the website you'll find boxes like this one here, which contain iAN's information tips on how to make your application go smoothly.
There's extra information and important checklists on the Application Form and on the Funding Guidance Notes. As well as reading the website, it's a really good idea to print out a copy of the Youth Opportunity Fund Application Form and Funding Guidance Notes so you can read through it with the other young people involved in the project.
Contact the Team
If you're still having problems getting your application together, you can contact your Decision Making and Young People worker who can suggest ways to improve your application, but please check through the Questions and Answers page first to see if your query has already been answered.
You can write to the YOF/YCF/Chill Out Fund at the following address:

How did iAN the fun guy come into being?
When the YOF/YCF started out, decisions were made by Divisional Youth Forums.
Members of Divisional Youth Forums had regular meetings where they discussed ways to improve the process of applying to the Youth Opportunity and Capital Funds.
They also discussed ways of improving the process of allocating and approving grants.
At these meetings, some young people helped by writing content and others by selecting or drawing designs, like this one.
