Around Oxford City

Spurgeons Child Care - The Shout Project

The grant will help Spurgeon's to develop additional holiday projects and other activities for young People in Oxford over a two year period, aiming to use currently undervalued facilities e.g. a Bowling Green.

Youth Service, East, South, Cowley Area - The Chill Out Group

The grant will help this busy youth club off the Cowley Road, in Oxford, purchase tables and chairs for the coffee bar to make it look "less like a dentist waiting room".

Oxfordshire Youth Mentoring Service - The Stolen Soul Project

The Youth Support Service's one-on-one mentoring scheme will be providing guitar lessons for some of the young people using the service, leading to performance at community events!

Youth Offending Prevention Team, Barton - The Game On project

The grant will help provide additional activities for young people in Barton who are at risk of offending. It will introduce Young People to games and activities they may not have come across before e.g. chess.

South Oxford Adventure Play group (SOAP)

The extra funding will is project will allow SOAP to open at times it has been unable to before! The money will help provide an after-school activity five days a week for six months, as a pilot initiative.

Youth Service, Headington Area - The Woodfarm Massive Media Project

About twenty-five young people will be involved in regular art and design sessions that will lead to the design of a website by the Young People.

Youth Service, Botley Area - The Matrix multi-media Group

The funding will provide money for local young people to design and produce four editions of a newsletter.

Rose Hill Youth Centre - New Music Studio

This Project will extend a very small underutilized room in the Youth Centre and create a purpose fitted music studio with hi-tech equipment.

Connexions - the inbox project

Young Homeless People in Oxford will take part in the inbox project, to produce a newsletter about experiences of being homeless in Oxford

Connexions with the Bridge - secure notice board

Young homeless people will work with the Bridge staff to design and maintain a secure notice board at The Bridge to keep up to date information on "services and stuff" going on in Oxford for Young People.

Oxford Young Carers Project - the Break Fund

The Break Fund will allow young carers in Oxford to access leisure opportunities and social activities that they would not otherwise be able to afford.

Wolvercote Young Peoples Club - Tracks Go-Karting Project

The Tracks –Go karting Project will enable young people to learn mechanical skills and "improve team working".

Blackbird Leys - U18 Basketball Project

The basketball project will now be able to train twice per week for a year with high level coaching and equipment.

Donnington Doorstep - Drop In Project

The Drop In Project will provide a wide range of activities for young people in an area currently lacking services/facilities aimed at young people. Activities on offer will include sports, arts, workshops, assertiveness training, food technology, IT.

Connexions - TAP Project

The Connexions TAP (Teenage and Pregnant) Project will provide a day-long health project for Young Pregnant Teenagers.

African/Caribbean project - Showtime

The Showtime project will provide dance sessions, instructors and costumes in a dance project leading to performances.

In the Vale of the White Horse

South Abingdon Family Support Team - South Teenscheme

The organisation will provide a range of activities and a trip for young people during the school summer holidays.

Kennington Youth Club - Improvements

Kennington Youth Club will use their grant to purchase a new sports, arts and cooking equipment to make the centre more fun for Young People.

The Net, Abingdon - Young people planned residential

Young People will take part in a four week planning and lead-up to a residential trip during school holidays.

Sweatbox Youth Centre, Wantage - The Sweatbox Stage Installation

The Youth Centre will improve its capacity for live gigs and music/stage projects by getting in a professional PA monitoring system and lighting rig.

Sweatbox Youth Centre, Wantage - Sweatbox Does Thorpe Park

This grant will subsidise young people from Faringdon, Grove and Wantage on a trip to Thorpe Park in the school holidays.

Berinsfield Youth Centre - Refurbishment

This funding will involve an initial group of twenty young people in the refurbishment of a run-down Youth Centre in Berinsfield. The aim is to re-establish the centre on a safe and vibrant place to go.

Campus Youth Centre, Berinsfield - Internet Café Project

The Internet Café Project will enable young people in Berinsfield to access ICT, including the Internet where they will be able to access information for homework, jobs etc.

Sweatbox Youth Centre, Wantage - Sweatbox Does Sea Fishing

Wantage Youth Centre's Sweatbox does Sea Fishing will provide a sea fishing trip for young people from Wantage, Grove and Farringdon.

Campus Youth Centre, Berinsfield - Youth Forum Away Day

The Campus Youth Forum in Berinsfield will have an “away day” to fully establish and form the new youth forum.

Vale of the White Horse Social Services

Grant to support the "teenscheme" -- part of family support.

Vale Divisional Young People's Forum

Local Youth Mentoring Abingdon and Kennington Venture Youth Club have both received grants to support participation in a Divisional Young Peopls' Forum.

Young People in Stockton Park

A grant has been awarded to suppport the development of a recreation ground.

Barnados

A grant for their play and leisure project.

Grove and Wantage Youth Centre - Refurbishment

A grant for refurbishment of the Grove Club.

Berinsfield Youth Centre

A grant for the Noah's Ark project.

The Net, Abingdon

Grants for two projects: counterpart studio and "pimp my bus", a motorcycle project.

Faringdon Youth Centre

Two grants, one to refurbish the Cromwell centre and one for a paintballing trip.

VOWDH

A grant to set up a skate park in Abingdon.

In West Oxfordshire

Carterton Young Mum’s Group - out and about

This grant will fund eight young mums and their children heading out to Aston Tyrell for a three-day residential.

Allandale Youth Centre, Carterton - Summer Programme

The summer activities programme provides a range of things for around one hundred young people during the school summer holidays. They say: "This money would mean we could do lots of activities that keep us busy and out of any trouble."

Base 33

Funding was awarded to the centre for a Football project.

Witney Ecumenical Youth Trust - Games Project

This money will help buy some computer games that will encourage young people to take part in different activities.

Chipping Norton Youth Centre - Young Women’s Football Project Pilot

This grant will set up a group that will offer Young Women in the area the opportunity to play football and improve their skills in a structured way.

Guidepost Trust

A grant has been awarded for staffing and equipment.


Witney Ecumenical Youth Trust - development grant

Funding will go to refurbish and expand the current youth space and increase the hours of opening.

L.I.S.T.E.N - Computer Project

Disability group L.I.S.T.E.N. will now be able to provide computer facilities for Young People with disabilities.

Witney Youth Centre

Two separate grants for a major project to set up a kitchen area in the Centre, and a smaller grabt for a trip for young people.

North Leigh Young People's Club

Grants awarded for equipment and staffing for this youth club.

Thame Youth Centre - The Summer Screen Project

Summer Screen will provide animation workshops for young people at the Youth Centre, then the final film will be shown at a cinema in Oxford as part of the Summer Screen Festival.

Thame Youth Centre The Indoor Sports Project

The project will fund a variety of indoor sports equipment to provide more "things to do" at the centre.

Wheatley Youth Centre - Refurbishment

The refurbishment project will improve the Youth Centre environment and building. "We would benefit from having a nicer environment to chill in".

Didcot Skateboard Committee - DISC competition

DISC will organise a skate park competition to promote/increase access to skating to a wider range of young people.

The Vibe Youth Centre, Didcot - The Project Café

The Vibe will purchase computers and provide young people with access to the Internet for a homework club and project work.

Chiltern Edge Youth Club - Development

The Youth Club will purchase a new pool table and other equipment to attract more of the local young people to the club.

Didcot Area Young people with Disabilities - Fuse Project

The Fuse Project will enable young people with disabilities in the Didcot area to have a residential experience and spend time doing things other young people have access to more easily.

Wallingford Youth Centre - Forum residential

The Wallingford youth Forum will have a residential project which will focus on consolidating the forum, team building, and understanding roles and responsibilities.

Wheatley youth Centre - Development

"Much needed equipment" will be purchased for Wheatley Youth Centre including a pool table and Playstation games. The "running group" (young people's committee) have been asking for this equipment for the last three years.

Wallingford Area - Multi-media Project/IT Café

This project will provide space and equipment for computer courses, homework, clubs and media projects.

Thame Youth Centre - Healthy Eating Programme

The healthy eating programme will introduce different ways of healthy eating and help to stimulate young people to reflect on their current diet.

Little Milton Village Hall - Young people's film club

The Little Milton Film Club will enable young people in a rural isolated area to have a place to meet and watch films.

Thame Youth Centre - The Kitchen Project

The cookery and kitchen project will complement the Healthy Eating Programme by providing up to date equipment and kitchen refurbishment for young people to learn about preparing and cooking food.

Wallingford Area - Bike Shack

The Bike Shack will use/adapt existing space to develop a workshop and run bike repair workshops for 50+ local young people.

Woodcote Youth Club - Art project

This Art Project will provide sessions and workshops for c. 60 young people in the rural areas of Woodcote, Cholsey and Goring.

Chinnor Youth Club - Development

This re-energised voluntary club will purchase much needed equipment including Board Games, Sports Equipment, Play station games so that the young people have "something to do".

Wallingford Youth Centre - Arts and Crafts development

The very run down Arts and Crafts area will be refurbished and renovated and provide arts/crafts equipment for the young people who use the centre.

Chinnor Parish Council with Chinnor Youth Club - Photo Project

The ‘Photo’ Project will provide young people with an opportunity to develop photographic skills and display their work.

OX14 Local Youth Mentoring - service extension

The OX14 Mentoring Project will extend its service to support work with individuals and groups of young people in the Abingdon area.

In the Cherwell Area (North Oxfordshire)

Banbury Youth Centre - Information Project

The Information Project will purchase computers for use by young people at the centre to replace old ones (currently described as, "not working well – rubbish!")

Banbury Detached Project - Images project

The Images Project is a photography project for young women working on self-esteem and identity.

Banbury Youth Centre - Music Studio

The grant will allow the Youth Centre to build a music studio in the youth centre, for use by current users and to provide facilities for other young people in Banbury.

Spurgeons Child Care - the Shout Project

The project will develop additional holiday projects and other activities for young people in targeted areas of the Cherwell district.

Banbury East Area - Asian History project

The Asian History Project will enable young people to research Asian history and culture in the area.

Bicester and North Oxon Cricket Club

A grant has been awarded to allow the club to buy a wheel-away net.

Spurgeon's Childcare

A grant has been awarded to help Spurgeons continue their work with young people who have been bereaved.

Bicester Courtyard Youth Arts Centre

A grant has been awarded to help refurbish and equip the band (music) room.

Banbury Youth Centre

A small grant to help buy a computer.

Cherwell Theatre Company

A grant to support creation of m aterials and publicity for a festival of new drama.

ISSP Youth Offending Team

A grant to provide equipment and materials to support work with young offenders.

Local mentoring

A small grant has been awarded to the local mentoring service.

BHYP

A grant has been awarded to support the Banbury Young Homeless Project's "Have your cake and eat it" project.

Steeple Aston

A grant has been awarded to help make a better sports area.

Banbury Youth centre

Development of the music studio, including staffing and other costs.

Bicester Youth Centre

A grant to support the Bicester Bus Project.

County-wide projects

Oxfordshire Deaf Children’s Society - Film project

A film will be made by deaf and hard of hearing young people on the subject of "life as a deaf or hard of hearing Young Person".

Hill End - Summer Arts Project

This funding will contribute to the overall funding for the Summer Arts Project involving 70 young people from the Looked After system to take part in an extensive summer arts project.
