MAP is a multi-arts project which works with young people at risk throughout the county. It combines learning arts with other work that helps young people connect, grow and overcome issues in their lives.

The heirlooms project looked at ways of making things which had special meaning to their creators Young people learn arts skills as part of the project

The arts are used as a way to explore issues and understand problems. They're also used to build skills such as team work, timekeeping and confidence. These skills and support from the workers help the students into further education, employment, or training.

If you want to get involved with the MAP project, ask about art projects at your local youth centre. Though this show was mostly around visual arts, other projects on offer include film making, music technology and creative writing.
