Next stop for the Participation Project was Banbury Young Homeless Project, where there's a regular drop in every thursday 12-2pm for young people in Banbury who are homeless or have housing problems.

We had chocolate eggs, badge-making equipment and of course a camera; trouble was, nobody really wanted to make badges!

The door to the drop-in room, with a sign advertising our sessionFair enough ; after all, there are lots of reasons for not wearing badges. Badges draw attention to you, they're pushy and what seems like a good idea one day might not be what you want to be wearing tomorrow.

Still, that was fine. After all, you don't need to go to the trouble of making a badge to make a statement; all you need is a pen, some paper, and an idea about what you want to say.

With that, you can make signs like the ones you can see here; Page 1, Page 2, Page 3.

Decorating one of the signsIn all the photos here the faces of the people are hidden by their slogans. This was partly to preserve their privacy but also because some people prefer not to be photographed.

Wheher it was a slogan to live by, something to make you think, or just an interesting idea, pretty much everyone had something important they wanted to say.

Graffiti and our participation signAt the end of the session, everyone who wanted got chocolate eggs and a look through all the photos.

All thanks to Richard, Wayne, Amanda, Becky, Karl, Gary, Kayleigh, Calvin, Nathan, Michael and Antony for taking part in the sessions.
