Visit the new Vale Youth Forum Website for up-to-date news from 2008 about the amazing Vale Youth Forum.
On the new website, things are a lot different. The design is way slicker, but the content has also changed, to reflect the Vale Youth Forum better. Additions include short video pieces young Forum members, as well as information on how to contact the UK Youth Parliament MP and Deputy for the South Oxfordshire area.
VALE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY
Finding out what you think
The Vale of White Horse District Council's Youth Development Plan sets out services for children and young people aged 0-19 from 2006-2009.
It shows how services it already provides will contribute to the Oxfordshire Children and Young People’s Plan, and how local agencies will work in partnership to deliver better services and outcomes.
If you are a young person living in the Vale, we need your views on the proposed plan. You can read a summary on this page, or download the full plan or a summary leaflet. Consultation closes 18th August 2006.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED
The Youth Forum connects young people to the political decision making process. It allows them to discuss and give their views on important issues, and also informs young people about the work done by their Local Council, MPs and MEPs.
Three forums are held each year. The Council invites all Schools in or near the Vale of the White Horse to send up to six representatives from years 10, 11 and 12 (aged 14 – 18). Schools decide who attends. They may be School Councillors or students who ask to attend, or are interested in politics. Representatives are encouraged to attend at least three meetings, and many continue for two or more years.
The Forums combine presentations or talks, open discussion and question time with local Councillors, MPs and MEPs. Discussion topics are set by Councillors, current consultations, and suggestions from young people. Every effort is made to include speakers from as wide a range of political parties as appropriate.
Youth Forum delegates also have the opportunity to go on visits and take part in projects like this one.
