Workshop on 16 August for all ages from Pontoon in Oxford under Ferry Bridge!

Worried about waste? Community Action Groups organise regular swap shops throughout Oxfordshire where people can swap unwanted items.

Too revolting to go outside? Need to curl up with a good book (or graphic novel, video or DVD)? Why not join your local library, and get enough entertainment to keep you on the sofa all month, for free! Here's how.

Did you love the Golden Compass? BBC Oxford has a whole section on Philip Pullman.

Some people live in Oxford and find it dull. There's no excuse for that. Check out this new Youth Website from Oxford City council for five things to do without even thinking in one of the world's coolest cities.

Looking for a club or society? Oxfordshire County Council lists over 2000 local clubs, societies and voluntary groups on their website. See if you can find one to suit you.

EVENTS & FESTIVALS

Photograph from the Elder Stubbs Festival in OxfordJuly is time for festivals! You can get the full music festival round-up on the Music Page and pick out the festival that suits you best. Elsewhere, anyone missing the intellectual challenges of term time should get over to Science Oxford for events about brains, hearing and mathematics, in the strangest places! Having recently attended a bonkers robot music evening there I can highly recommend it! And while we're in Oxford, let's not forget about the colourful Cowley Road Carnival at the beginning of July, and Knight School at Oxford Castle at the end of the month. Elsewhere in Oxfordshire, check out the Henley Royal Regatta, Youth Arts Platform at the Mill in Banbury, and Digs and Dinosaurs at Cogges Manor Farm (near Witney).
